Several urban and peri-urban areas in Indonesia faced increasing water losses due to aging pipelines and frequent leakage. The local water authority initiated a phased network upgrade to improve supply reliability and reduce non-revenue water while minimizing disruption during installation.

Location: Indonesia
Project Period: March 2022 – December 2022
Application: Municipal Water Supply Infrastructure
Client: Local Water Utility Authority (PDAM)

Products Supplied:
- HDPE Water Supply Pipes (OD 110–400 mm, PN10 / PN16)
- HDPE Butt Fusion Fittings
- Customized pipe marking and packaging
EXLON PIPE supplied HDPE water pipes and fittings manufactured in accordance with ISO standards. Based on local installation conditions and pressure requirements, pipe specifications and SDR selections were adjusted to ensure long-term performance. Customized pipe markings were provided to help contractors identify pressure ratings and installation sections on site.
To meet the tight construction schedule, EXLON PIPE coordinated production planning and shipment in multiple batches, ensuring continuous material availability throughout the project. Technical support was provided remotely for butt fusion procedures and joint inspection requirements.
The HDPE system was selected for its corrosion resistance, flexibility, and low leakage risk. After commissioning, the upgraded network demonstrated improved water delivery stability and reduced maintenance needs, supporting the municipality’s long-term water management goals.

During installation, the HDPE pipeline system demonstrated good adaptability to narrow urban streets and variable ground conditions, allowing contractors to complete trenching and pipe laying with limited impact on surrounding communities. The use of butt fusion joints reduced the number of mechanical connections, contributing to a more uniform and leak-resistant pipeline network.
Following completion, the upgraded sections showed stable operating pressure and consistent flow performance during routine operation and peak demand periods. According to feedback from the local utility and contractor, the HDPE system helped simplify maintenance planning and reduced the frequency of emergency repairs compared with the previous pipeline network.
